Designing your own footprints

• 2-lead components should be designed to have their length run horizontally, not vertically. This is because almost all physical components will come in reels this way.
  • If the 2-lead component is polarized, the cathode or marked end should face to the left. There is an exception here - If the component is a tantylum capacitor, it should face to the right.
